Private General Practice

At Bodyworx Health we are delighted to expand our services to offer swift and direct access to Private General Practice (GP) appointments providing advice and medical services on all common ailments.

For many reasons people in our communities are finding it increasingly difficult to schedule face to face and telephone appointments with their local General Practice. In addition, many people would like to have more time to discuss their concerns and treatments and the ability to attend at convenient times with short waiting lists.

For these reasons along with the requirements of today’s fast-paced lifestyle, many patients are seeking to book Private GP appointments.

At Bodyworx Health we have been working with Dr Steve Baynes, a local GP with over 20 years’ experience as a General Practitioner (GP) and over 10 years as a Sports Medicine Doctor.

Dr Baynes will be providing face to face consultations from the Bodyworx Health Clinic in Totton

Dr Steve Baynes

I am a GP with over 25 years’ medical experience. I graduated from Nottingham University in 1987 and have postgraduate qualifications in a number of general practice areas.

After spending time in Australia, following my GP specialist training, I returned home to the UK to work in general practice in the New Forest and continued in that role for over two decades while extending my studies in sports and exercise medicine. In 2013, I left my practice to follow a career in sports and exercise medicine along with freelance private and NHS general practice.

I continue to keep my GP skills and knowledge up do date and provide regular GP clinics at a number of locations.

In my GP practice I aim to offer a comprehensive and friendly service covering most of the usual conditions seen in General Practice. During the consultation I will gather all information I need from you, then conduct any necessary examination and organise thorough investigation. We will discuss the findings and look at options then we will plan your onward pathway of care together.

I have developed a wide network of trusted specialist colleagues to whom I can refer and I have access to the many local hospital diagnostic facilities.

I am experienced in treating patients of all ages and backgrounds, and frequently see patients visiting the UK from overseas.

I can also complete medical examinations and reports – it is advisable to email copies of the report required to me to be sure that everything can be organised in advance.
